About Bob Boyd

About Bob Boyd

Hello, I’m Attorney Bob Boyd, and I’d like to welcome you to the official website of my law practice.

You may have seen me around before. I’m a member of the Lake County community and active in many community organizations, including the Singers’ Club of Cleveland. Maybe you saw me at St. Mary’s Parish in Mentor or perhaps you’ve seen me at a function related to scouting, as I currently serve as the Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 75. This area and the people who live here are important to me, and I’m honored to be able to help members of the community deal with legal concerns.

I was admitted to the Ohio State Bar Association in 1980 after finishing by Bachelor of Arts degree at University of Notre Dame and law school at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. My first job in law was working as a clerk for the Hon. John M. Parks of the Lake County Common Pleas Court.

After spending 2 years learning the ropes as a law clerk, I went on to work for area law firms, both large and small, gaining experience in civil litigation, business and corporate litigation, probate, real estate law and personal injury and worker’s compensation cases. Bankruptcy Law over the years grew to be one of my key focuses.

While I enjoyed working for ¬†other firms, I wanted to be able to provide a more personalized level of service for my clients. I saw how stressful matters like bankruptcy, personal injury and worker’s compensation were for my clients and envisioned creating a small firm where I could work one-on-one with those facing these types of legal problems. In 2005, I set out on my own, founding this Willoughby, Ohio, law practice.

Currently, I am accepting cases related to:

  • Bankruptcy
  • Personal injury
  • Worker’s compensation
  • Probate, wills & powers of attorney
  • Small business law

I believe that legal services shouldn’t be confusing or complicated for my clients. That’s why I work hard to fully explain my clients’ rights and options in plain language without all the confusing legal jargon you’ll hear in so many other law offices. My number one priority is that you fully understand every course of action that is available to you and that you get the absolute best representation for your interests.

To me, the Willoughby area isn’t just where I work. It’s close to the home where I live with my wife and raised my two children. The people I represent are all my neighbors, no matter how far they drive to visit my law office. When you choose me to represent you or assist you with a legal matter, you’ll be working with an attorney who truly cares and will work hard to get you the best outcome possible.
